Bernie Alice McEvoy is a fiction author whose writing is shaped by memory, resilience, compassion and a deep interest in the complexities of human experience. After graduating from university, she began working in its library, building a long career surrounded by books, records and the written word.
Through thoughtful fiction and emotionally honest storytelling, Bernie explores voices, relationships and experiences that are often left unspoken.
Her novel, Searching for Alice, is a work of fiction inspired by real events, exploring adoption, identity, loss and the search for truth. Through sensitive and compelling storytelling, Bernie challenges simplified ideas about adoption and reunion while bringing an often unheard perspective to the page.
